Chef's Knife Class: Jan 17-18, 2019 (Deposit)
If you like knives or like to cook or you just want to have a blast for a couple of days, come to the official Chef's Knife class here at the Burt Foster Center for Hard Work and Blisters and Small Burns.
We'll be making a forged, full-tang, carbon steel chef's knife. You will learn how to take a handful of raw materials, like the ones in the photo and turn them into the best kitchen knife you've ever used. The knife shown is an example of the kind of knife we'll be making but you can vary the blade or handle to suit your tastes or needs. This is an introductory level class so no experience is required, but certainly won't hurt if you have some.
This is a two-day class, January 17-18, 2019.
Travel: If you are thinking about traveling here for a class, here's some info. There's a great local airport about 20 minutes from the shop called Tri-Cities Regional Airport in Blountville, TN (airport code: TRI). There are several hotels very close as well. The Fairfield Inn and Suites (Bristol, TN) and the Hampton Inn (Bristol, TN) are the closest, but there are many more just a short drive away.
The class is $750 per person for the two-day class. Please note: the above purchase button is charging a $250 deposit only. The additional $500 can be paid via check, cash or card when you arrive. This new policy limits the amount of money I am holding for classes not yet given.
Class is limited to three people. You must be at least 18 years of age at this time.
