Post-Apocalyptic Sword Class, July 23-26, 2024 (Deposit only)
$ 500.00
This class is something I've wanted to do for a while, because I'm going to have as much fun teaching the class as you are being there. Along with my good friend Journeyman Bladesmith Mike Deibert, we're going to co-teach a class where you will have the chance to make a weapon perfect for the (possibly upcoming) apocalypse, along the lines of one of the two blades shown here.
The Wakasashi on the left is quick and fast and feels like a stinger in the hand, while the massive Swashbuckling Saber on the right is just terrifying and can clear a forest or a hoarde with ease. You will choose.
You will forge the blade from carbon steel (mostly by hand), grind, heat treat and finish the blade. We will also teach you how to wrap the handle and turn it into one of the most ferocious things you've ever held. Money back if you can manage to hold the finished piece without a huge smile!
Might even be a little surprise in this class.
This is a four-day class, July 23-26, 2024.
The class is $2000 for the four-day class. In order to book the class, only a $500 deposit is collected. The balance can be paid when you arrive by cash, check, or credit card. Class is limited to six people. You must be at least 18 years of age at this time. (If this class is full, I will start a waiting list for anyone interested.)
Travel: If you are thinking about traveling here for a class, here's some info. There's a great local airport about 20 minutes from the shop called Tri-Cities Regional Airport in Blountville, TN (airport code: TRI). There are several hotels very close as well. The Fairfield Inn and Suites (Bristol, TN) and the Hampton Inn (Bristol, TN) are the closest, but there are many more just a short drive away.
