Brush-Beater Camp Knife

This beastly chopper was forged by hand from a piece of 1095 to the exact shape you see here.  Even the plunge area was forged in and left just as it left the anvil.  Only the very edge was ground to bring it to an edge.  The handle is weathered cocobolo, wrapped in Japanese pattern.

The sheath will feel right at home in the woods as it was practically born in the woods.  Sword scabbards were often made from wood and this is the next best thing.....actually it's better!  A piece of weathered wood was embossed into the sheath with a perfect pattern transfer of the grain.

Check out the video of me using this knife to ward of a vicious tree!  And yes, the knife cleaned up fine.
