Bowie Knife, Sep 24-26, 2025 (Deposit only)
$ 100.00
A Bowie knife is unarguably the most iconic American knife design, but as so many different knives were attributed to Jim Bowie during his life and after, the knife design is extremely fluid and open to interpretation. As such, this class will focus on the most fundamental design elements, namely a large blade and a full guard. Guard fitting can be a challenge, but we’re going to cover the best (in my opinion) way of fitting a guard and shaping the handle, all to create a seamless knife with elements that flow from one to the other.
This class is an intermediate class and should be taken by those with some prior experience.
(Note, knife shown for reference, but we will not be making the leather sheath pictured).
This is a three-day class, September 24-26, 2025.
The class is $1500 for the three-day class. In order to book the class, only a $100 deposit is collected. The balance can be paid when you arrive by cash, check, or credit card. Class is limited to four people. You must be at least 18 years of age at this time.
Travel: If you are thinking about traveling here for a class, here's some info. There's a great local airport about 20 minutes from the shop called Tri-Cities Regional Airport in Blountville, TN (airport code: TRI). There are several hotels very close as well. The Fairfield Inn and Suites (Bristol, TN) and the Hampton Inn (Bristol, TN) are the closest, but there are many more just a short drive away.
