Bronze Age Fighter
This steel for this fighter was forged in my shop with my good friend, Michael Deibert (ABS Journeyman Smith) at the end of 2021. It is one of the last knives finished in that year.
The blade is a light feather pattern (80CRV2 and 15N20), and looks so much like an actual feather it's shocking. I'd love to say this was part of a grand design but like so many discoveries it was the result of an experiment where we just varied a few elements in the process. The Thorned guard is forged bronze, aged to compliment the bronze tones in the walrus ivory handle, which itself is secured with a single, domed, bronze pin.
The sheath is a high-ride, textured model with a forged bronze shield.
