Frontier Bowie

$ 2,700.00

One of my favorite ways to build a knife is to combine the rough with the smooth, the forged with the finished. This big bowie is a great example of my favorite combination of colors and textures.

The blade is forged to shape from 80CRV2, and I spent a lot of time getting a really defined plunge grind during the forging process. All that natural texture remains, laid against the hand-finished bevels. The mild steel guard is sculpted, and matte black finished. The beautiful English walnut handle is stabilized, museum fitted to the guard, and finished with several coats of a hand-rubbed oil finish.

The sheath is a brown/black fade with a forged steel escutcheon on the face of the sheath. There is no belt loop on the reverse, as this is intended as a slip sheath.
