Post-Apocalyptic Wakazashi
This piece served as one of the demo pieces from the first Post-Apocalyptic Sword class. I am not alone in assuring you that once you hold this thing, you'll be begging for some sort of Mad Max scenario, just to give you a reason to walk into the wastelands so well armed. Or just buy some watermelons.
The blade was forged very close to its final shape. The blade bevels are flat ground with a convex cutting edge, with forge texture remaining above the bevels, and finished in my wicked patina finish. The handle is cord-wrapped in a neo-Japanese style with epoxy soaked cotton and nylon cord. The epoxy is fully impregnated into the cord so that the surface of the cord looks and feels bare with no indication of any coating.
The sheath comes with a removable baldric which is adjustable for height of carry. If the baldric is removed, the scabbard can be worn on a belt.
Blade length: 17.25", Overall 25.5", weight 1.58 lbs.
