Thunderstorm Camp Knife
This knife, forged from 1095 and clay-hardened, developed a hamon that reminds me of the summer storms we get here in Southwest Virginia. I polished the blade to make the hamon as bold as possible while leaving a silky texture in the background set against the forge textured spine.
The handle is weathered cocobolo with a bamboo rattan wrap and a bamboo lanyard hole. The blade is lighter than it looks and is very fast in the hand.
The sheath has a distressed faux inlay tooled into a deep pouch with a "V" notch belt loop.
The blade is 10.75" long, and the overall length is 16.25".
