Post-Apocalyptic Chopper

Embracing the ever-present 13 year-old boy alive and well inside my skull, I’ve made another post-apocalyptic chopper that if nothing else will not fail to put a silly adolescent smile on your face.
The blade is forged close to shape from 80CRV2. The forged bevels are almost hollow in cross section, with a convex cutting edge. Both sides have a deep fuller running the length of the blade in order to reduce weight and to subconsciously remind you of the air scoops on that Ferrari 308 poster you had on your bedroom wall.
The full-tang is forged to a taper, and wrapped in a Japanese style sword wrap and bounded by two Turk’s head knots. The handle is epoxy impregnated for unmatched grip and durability.
In a further nod to things that silly boys love, the sheath has a hideous and badly sutured wound, left unhealed as a reminder to mind the cutting edge.
