Rather than fit another hidden tang knife with a guard, I thought I'd try a large Fighter/Bowie built in the same method as some of my chef's knives, and the result is something pretty cool
The blade is forged very close to shape with minimal grinding. It's hand finished where possible, and forge textured everywhere else. The curly maple handle is a solid piece, split and re-assembled to give the balance of a hidden tang blade with the ease of use of a full tang.
The sheath is a high-ride model in woodgrain finish, right-handed, 1.75" belt.
