Frame Handle Camp

More fun with frame handles, this stout camp knife has the look and feel of a full tang knife, but lighter and balanced like a hidden tang. If you hold this and don’t want to murder a pine tree, call a doctor.

The blade is 80CRV2 forged as close as is humanly possible. I’ve ground and hand-finished the edges and left the forge texture alone, sort of beauty and the beast style.

The frame handle is composed of spalted maple “scales”, sculpted and fitted to a tapered black micarta frame. I thought the intentional contrast of the frame with the material lent a composite full-tang look to the whole piece.

The sheath is a Dragonskin deep pouch model with right hand belt loop.
