Long before I started leaving forge texture on everything, I made integral knives as a way of leaving a forged signature on a piece. Even fully finished, this full-tang integral camp knife tells the story of starting life as a 1” round bar of 52100 and slowly becoming this fast, satiny beast. Big-bellied blades are often heavy (like their human counterparts), but this one is light and fast, only .172” thick at the spine.
The octagonal integral bolster flows into the sculpted spalted maple handle, half-faceted, and secured with three domed bronze pins.
Sheath is an elegantly simple design which lets that bolster shine just a bit, even sheathed.
