This entire knife is defined by its understated beauty. It's so much easier to add a lot of bling and dazzle to a knife than it is to ease materials together til they are right, then just stop.
The laminated blade, rather than an aggressive lamination line has a soft, undulating border, exposed by a deep-fullered grind, polished bevels and natural texture at the spine.
The frame handle is Brazilian Rosewood, given to me in Brazil a few years back. It has a beautiful but subtle grain of dark browns and black, and the oil finish gives a satin luster without a glossy shine.
The sheath I was particularly pleased by. I know it doesn't look it, but it's very tricky to sneak brown and black together in a way where neither crowds out the other, and I tried something a bit different on this piece and am quite proud of the outcome.
