When I make a new design, I generally make several and offer them all at once, but this is the first and my schedule permitted only the one.
Although it has the familiar lines of many of my hunting knives, it's subtlety different, and most notably pairs an aggressive ladder pattern Damascus blade (80CRV2 and 15N20) with a frame handle of toasted curly maple. The hidden-tang blade is flat ground with an integral guard, and the handle is fitted in a three-piece frame handle configuration, with just a hint of a museum fit, leaving the wood just proud of the blade steel. The resulting knife is very light, and very comfy.
The handle is very darkly toasted maple, using no dyes to accomplish the deep brown, just heat that caramelizes the sugars in the wood. The wood is stabilized and finished in a multi-step oil finish.
The pouch sheath is crisply moulded to the blade and made for right-handed carry.
